a
well-trained massage practitioner employs his
hands as finely tuned yet powerful tools to
promote wellness. as awareness grows and misconceptions
fade regarding the value of massage therapy,
more and more people are discovering the profound
benefits available to them through regular body
work. the origins of therapeutic massage are
rooted in the common instinctual response to
hold and rub a hurt or pain. it is found in
all cultures as an integral part of health care
and maintenance. hippocrates, the father of
western medicine, considered massage of prime
importance in any health regime. galen and the
romans also greatly prized the healing benefits
of massage. with the re-emergence of holistic
health theories and therapies, therapeutic massage
is experiencing a renaissance and is regaining
its rightful place among health care practitioners.

reflexology
(footmassage)
reflexology, an ancient art practiced by all cultures,
is a science based on the premise that there are
zones and reflex areas in the feet which correspond
to all glands, organs, parts and systems of the
body. the physical act of applying pressure using
thumb, finger and hand techniques to these reflex
areas results in the reduction of stress which
promotes physiological changes in the body.each
foot has over 7,000 nerve endings, 26 bones, 107
ligaments and 19 muscles. this type of drugless
therapy creates a physiological change in the
body by naturally improving your circulation,
which reduces your body tension and enhances relaxation.
it aids in the elimination of body waste and restoring
the body functions to better health. many of our
health problems can be linked to stress. it is
an acknowledged fact by the medical community
that a body trying to function while under the
influence of prolonged stress is less capable
of organizing its defenses against illnesses and
repair damage caused by injury. stress can be
either mentally, emotionally, physically, or environmentally
induced. reflexology can negate the effects of
stress while it helps the body relax. it gently
nudges the body towards better functioning by
improving lymphatic drainage and venous circulation,
simulation to the nerve pathways, and muscle relaxation. |

reiki (hands-on-healing)
reiki
is a japanese word derived from rei, meaning "universal"
and ki meaning "the vital life force". these japanese
characters, when combined, present the concept of "universal
life-force energy." reiki can be defined as the art of activating,
applying and balancing the universal life force energy that dwells
within every living being, animal or plant. reiki is an ancient
tradition that uses universal life energy to support the body's
natural ability to heal itself. it traces its roots back to what
is now tibet; originating around 3,000 b.c.reiki is a natural healing
method that uses the hands of a healer to channel energy to another
person. a japanese scholar, dr. mikao usui, rediscovered the lost
art in the 19th century. he passed on his knowledge to others, who
have since spread reiki around the world. |
|
any
person can practice reiki. it is non-religious. people of many faiths
and religions use it successfully. in order to practice reiki a person
must be attuned to the energy by a reiki master. a person iniciated
in reiki captures the energy through the chakras and transmits it
through the hands. because it is a channeled healing, the reiki practitioner's
energies are never depleted. in fact, the reiki consciousness considers
both practitioner and client to be in need of healing, so both receive
treatment. because of this, giving a treatment always increases one's
energy and leaves one surrounded with loving feelings of well-being.
besides many others, the benefits of reiki can be appreciated in expandation
of consciousness and intuition, helping to have a better understanding
of every being and life itself. reiki is a powerful tool to assist
in the manifestation of goals, to help us grow, change and to evolve
as spiritual beings.reiki treats the whole person including the body,
emotion, mind and spirit and creates many beneficial effects including
relaxation and feeling of peace, security and well-being. |

traditional yoga thai massage
thai
massage is a form of body work that is becoming increasingly popular
in the west. a complete thai massage incorporates a traditional
combination of acupressure, energy meridian work, and yoga-like
stretching for an invigorating and balancing experience. thai massage
improves circulation, flexibility, muscle tone, and is the perfect
complement to any exercise routine. thai massage improves circulation,
flexibility, muscle tone, and is the perfect complement to any exercise
routine. thai massage is most different from other forms of massage
in that there is no oil used, that the masseur uses a mattress on
the floor (as opposed to a table), and that you remain completely
clothed throughout the massage. thai massage has sometimes been
called "yoga massage", or "yoga for lazy people"!
this blend of acupressure and stretching is especially beneficial
for those who find themselves stiff, sore, and tired from over-exertion
in work or sports, or from arthritis or other debilitating diseases.
thai massage enhances strength and flexibility, relaxes sore or
tense muscles, and can help to recapture lost range of motion. by
encouraging lymphatic function, this traditional deep tissue massage
and stretching can also detoxify the body, heighten the immune system,
and prevent disease and/or injury by promoting flexibility. |

rebirthing:
conscious,
connected breathing
rebirthing is a method of healing and combining simple breathing
and relaxation with a new understanding of the power of thought.
it works on the principle that there is a close connection between
emotional, mental and physical well-being and the way in which
we breathe. so, liberating the body from pain, fear and disease
can begin with liberating the breath. rebirthing works on three
levels: body, mind and spirit.
on
the physical (body) level, rebirthing is conscious, connected
breathing. by connecting the inhale with exhale whilst in a relaxed
state (circular breathing), you will learn to breathe freely and
fully, healing old, inhibited patterns of breathing and opening
the way to a deep sense of well-being brought about by the release
of accumulated tensions which takes place during the Rebirthing
session. this release may at first feel strong or dramatic, or
it may happen very calmly.
with
the help of a experienced rebirther you may explore and identify
difficulties and enter a process of self growth that finally leads
into change and transformation and release of inner conflicts.
history
breathwork has its origin in asia: india, china y japan and has
always been used as a vehicle to heal and increase consciousness.
we can consider them as an old inheritage coming back. the techniques
of rebirthing as a combination of conscious, connected breathing
and creative thinking was created by leonard orr, dedicated since
1975 to expand his method in worksshops and seminars all over
the world, rebirthing millions of people.
"the
eight biggies"
rebirthing
also means to unravel the birth-death cycle and to incorporate
the body and mind into the conscious life of the eternal spirit
- to become a conscious expression of the eternal spirit. this
involves healing the eight biggies of human trauma, which are
the birth trauma, the parental disapproval syndrome, specific
negatives, the unconscious death urge, karma from past lives,
the religion trauma, the school trauma, and senility.
rebirthing breathwork is an experiential, body-centred alternative
therapy that uses a gentle yet powerful breathing technique to
help activate and release stored stress, pain and emotional trauma
of all degrees. the results are often profound as this process
works directly at the core of these issues whether conscious or
unconscious. the process also includes identifying limiting beliefs
that are formed before, during and after birth.
rebirthing
effectively reverses such beliefs and brings about changes that
may have been previously difficult to achieve. it creates space
in a client's life for joy, love, health and prosperity and functional
relationships. it is recognised as a powerful, efficient healing
method.
areas
in which special benefits have been found to occur are making
long-awaited changes, psychosomatic illnesses, relationship/sexual
issues, feeling 'stuck', shutdown or blocked, emotional release,
recurrent negative patterns, traumatic births, accelerated growth.

ayurvédic massage:
over
5000 years ago the rishies (yogis, mistics) in india discovered
a healing system (physical & astral) called ayurvedic. the founder
of ayurvedic is bhagwan danvantri.
in the ayurveda system pain is provoked by an obstruction of the
flow of vayu (air) in the vessels in the body. massaging the body
generates heat which produces an expansation and change of the air.the
circulation of vayu through the vessels dimishes the pain and leads
to a deeper breath.
this
massage balances the energy in the body, opens the free flow in
the channels and cleans the chakras and the blood, using circulatory
movements, pressure and channeled energy to help the one receiving.
nowadays most people live under pressure and with a high level of
stress. constantly worrying leads to an accumulation of toxins and
blocks the energy in the body.
due to the special techniques of digitopuncture, friction and circulatory
movement we work on the bloodcirculation, the limph system, emotional,
subtle and energetic and the muscle system to eliminate the tiredness,
physical and mental and increase the resistance to sickness and
a lack of harmony.
the
massage stimulates the production of antibodies and strengthens
the vital components in the body. the aromaoils give strength to
the nervous system. there is around 107 important pressure points
called marmas which are connected to the five organic principals
( muscles, vessels, ligaments, bones and joints ). these connections
are the base of the vital force or prana.
shiatsu:
shiatsu
is an therapeutic art from japan. using thumbs, hands, knees and
feed on the energy lines in the body to move the vital flow, ki,
and increase the capacity of self healing.
based on the concept of inner & energetic balance of body and
mind, shiatsu works on the meridians and acupuncture points of traditional
chinese medicine stimulating the organism and moving the joints.
shiatsu is very recommendable in case of muscle pain, stress, tiredness,
digestive, breathing, nervous and circulation problems.
